Travel platforms like TripAdvisor see a significant drop in engagement once a user's trip ends. Existing solutions for travel memories—such as Google Timeline or Instagram Memories—either lack interactivity or fail to keep users engaged long-term. Trip Replay changes this by offering personalized, AI-driven trip recaps, incentivizing engagement through gamification, and fostering a connected travel community.

Once a trip ends, users disengage from TripAdvisor, with no compelling reason to return until their next trip. Travel memories are scattered across platforms like Google Photos and Instagram, making it difficult for users to relive and interact with them meaningfully. Most competitor solutions focus on passive data collection rather than actively re-engaging users.
Design Approach
Trip Replay delivers an interactive, AI-generated trip summary that highlights key stats, best moments, and personalized recommendations. Users receive post-trip notifications, explore their journey in a dedicated dashboard, and engage in gamified tasks like reviewing places and earning rewards. By integrating with Google Photos and leveraging TripAdvisor’s rich data, Trip Replay offers a seamless, centralized memory hub that encourages long-term engagement.
Impact & Outcomes
Trip Replay transforms TripAdvisor from a transactional planning tool into a dynamic travel ecosystem.
